Mediated Piety and Online Identity Construction among Young Muslims in Post-Truth Culture

This research discusses phenomenon Digital Islam in the Age of Algorithmic Power and the Politics of Representation in Muslim Societies shows How development digital technology has change landscape preaching, authority religious, and representation of Islam in the algorithmic era. Through approach qualitative descriptive, this study analyzes how social media and systems algorithm play a role in forming structure power new in practice religious contemporary Muslim society. Findings show that digital preaching is no longer of a nature vertical and hierarchical as in the traditional ulama system, but rather nature participatory and horizontal, where the authority religious now shift to digital actors such as influencers, content creators, and online communities. In addition, social media algorithms play a role important in determining discourse dominant religion, forming perception public, and create political representation new about a modern, aesthetic and appropriate image of Islam with digital market logic. In this context, power in digital Islam is not only sourced from knowledge theological, but also from ability technological in managing algorithms and media aesthetics. This research emphasizes importance Islamic digital ethics based on maqāṣid al- syarī'ah so that Muslims can afford it guard mark spirituality, justice, and welfare in a virtual space that is full of with interest economic and ideological. With However, Digital Islam does not only become an arena for expression religious, but also a field struggle epistemological oppose hegemony algorithmic in forming meaning and authority religious.
